Don't Freak Out!
Maybe it's a bad report or a terrible event. Maybe a huge, unexpected bill, or just the loss of a lot of money. Maybe someone said something shocking or upsetting.
These are all things that could cause us to freak out!
But those moments when we're confronted with a possible freak-out are also crucial moments of faith. Freaking out is really -- don't get mad at me for saying so -- the same as doubt.
No matter how scary the situation is, faith says, "Father, this looks bad, but I trust You to work it out for good. I can't wait to see how you cause me to triumph in this situation!" (Romans 8:28, 2 Cor. 2:14).
Whenever I'm tempted to freak out, I think about the story of Jairus in Mark chapter 5. You know what happened -- Jairus, a leader of the synagogue, came and asked Jesus if He could heal his daughter who was near death.
Jesus said yes, but as as they were on the way to the house, one of Jairus' servant found them and said, "Don't trouble the Master any further -- your daughter is dead."
Talk about an opportunity to freak out! Jairus could well have sunk to the ground sobbing and been completely justified in doing so. But Jesus turned to him and said strongly, "Don't fear, only believe!"
You see, even though Jesus was the Son of God and He had all the power He needed to raise this little girl from the dead, He had to have one thing to bring the miracle to pass -- He had to have Jairus' faith. Jesus knew that if Jairus freaked out and stopped believing, it was over.
And you know what happened. Jairus kept going to the house with Jesus. He didn't say anything. He didn't freak out. And Jesus raised his little girl from the dead.
I want to encourage you this month -- when scary situations and circumstances come your way, don't freak out or get in fear. Keep believing God and He can bring your miracle to pass!

One Month Til I Leave

In just one month I will be flying to Russia to minister in a brand new Bible school for Uzbek Christians. We believe it will radically affect the entire 10/40 window of Central Asia.
If you'd like to give toward the trip, you can click here or send your offering to the address below. This is the biggest financial stretch I've ever taken in ministry, and I appreciate your willingness to help as God moves on your heart.
And you may be wondering about the picture of a pregnant woman. Well, one of the leaders of the Uzbek underground church is pregnant (a miracle baby, really) and I want to take her an offering to help with baby expenses. She and her husband daily risk their lives for the Gospel in Uzbekistan, and we're thrilled that they will be joining us at the Bible school when we're there.
If you'd like to be a part of blessing this precious and anointed young couple expecting their first child, you can click here or mail an offering to the address below. Just designate your offering "baby" and I'll make sure they get it.
Thanks for your love, support, and prayers -- you are a part of bringing Jesus to the Islamic nations of Central Asia!
