Why God, Why?

Sometimes things happen to us in life and we have questions.

Sometimes people die, or awful things happen, or things don't happen and we thought they would. Sometimes we were so sure, but things didn't work out the way they were supposed to.

And when that happens, we ask, "Why God, why?"

Too often we can make a camp there, and get angry with God. We can't get past the hurt, the disappointment, the anger, the betrayal, or the fear. But that's not where any of us want to be. God wants us to be able to move on and experience all His blessings.

THE BACK BURNER

Now don't get me wrong -- God can handle all your questions. It's okay to ask "why." But the key is, once you've asked, put it on the back burner and move on. By that I mean, don't let it become the focus of your life.

You might say, "Father. I have questions about this. I'm going to ask why, and then I'm going to put it on the back burner and trust You to answer me when and if You see fit. I trust you. Meanwhile, I'm going to keep my focus on You....I'm going to keep pressing into Your Word, growing in You, fulfilling Your plan for my life, listening to the voice of Your Spirit, and obeying You."

Sometimes you'll get your answer in due time. And let's face it -- sometimes you might not.

There are things you and I are never going to know. Some things aren't any of our business! But don't let those things stand between you and God....between you and your bright future.

I'm convinced one of the main reasons we ask "why" is because we don't want it to happen again, or happen to us.

But faith says, "I trust You Lord." Continue to believe Him and His Word concerning protection and healing and all His other promises. We can't base our faith on something that did or didn't happen -- we must base it on the Word of God.

THINGS WE DO KNOW

We will always have questions, things we don't know. But to keep your focus where it belongs, and be able to move on past the disappointments of life, remember the things you DO know.

You DO know that:

  • He'll never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5b amp)
  • He's not surprised by where you find yourself, and still has a good plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • Wherever you go, whatever you do, He's with you (Matt. 1:23, 28:20, Isaiah 41:10 amp)
  • No matter what else happens, He never changes (Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8)
  • Faith still comes by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17), the Word is still true (John 17:17) and it won't ever return void (Isaiah 55:11)
  • No matter what you've lost, He's still in the multiplication business (2 Cor. 9:10, Psalm 115:14).
  • You're still perfectly loved (Jeremiah 31:3, John 17:23)
He still thinks you're coming out on top (Romans 8:28, 2 Cor 2:14, Mark 9:23)
Jesus is coming soon, and you have an eternal home with Him -- in the end, you win! (1 Cor 15:52).
  • If you've been struggling with "Why God, why?" take some time to bathe your spirit in these truths from God's Word. Then set your questions on the back burner, and move on into all the blessings that God has for you!

An Amazing Opportunity

You remember I told you last month that this summer, God has opened a door for me to minister to Christians from Uzbekistan.

In the picture, I am holding the very first Uzbek Bible ever printed. My friends who minister in Muslim-dominated Uzbekistan are the ones who were instrumental in translating and printing these Bibles. The Uzbek people were the largest people group in the world without a Bible in their own language -- UNTIL NOW, as they are being printed and distributed throughout the country.

Now I'll be part of a team of 6 going to Russia in early June to hold public services and teach an intensive level one of a Bible school to hungry Uzbeks who will go back to their country and "spread the Word." We truly believe this will change Central Asia forever.

On top of this being a challenging time of ministry, it's also a challenge financially for me, with the cost of trip, the time off work, and receiving no offerings there. If you're interested in giving towards this trip and affecting Central Asia for the Gospel, you can mail a check or click below to give online.

Thanks for your love, support, and prayers -- you are a part of bringing Jesus to the Islamic nations of Central Asia!
