Don't Give Up On Your Dream
Do you have a dream? Is it coming true right now? Or does it seem like you've been dreaming it for a while without seeing it come to pass?
I think we've all experienced some frustration when it comes to the dreams of our hearts. Usually they take longer to come to pass than we would like!
And sometimes when it takes too long, we can get discouraged. Sometimes we even stop believing.
But I want to encourage you this month, because the dream in your heart is in there on purpose. God wants it to come true....He very often needs it to come true! Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
Don't give up on your dream.
It's Your Dream
I think sometimes we think the dream on our heart is on other people's hearts, too. But it's not! I once took a poll in one of my classes, "How many of you want to be on TV some day?"
About 10 (out of 300) people raised their hands, while many others sat there shaking their heads vehemently. I had the 10 look around, and they were surprised -- they'd thought that surely everyone wanted to be on TV!
I recently talked to a student who went to his pastor a few years ago about coming to Rhema -- and the pastor didn't know what to say. The student asked how many people the pastor had sent to Rhema and he said, "None." The student was surprised -- he thought everyone would want to go to Rhema! But no -- that was the dream on his heart, not on everyone's.
My point is, your dream is your dream -- it's not everyone's dream! The enemy would love you to think, "You'll never to be on TV, you'll never _______ (fill in the blank) -- everyone wants to do that, but someone else can do it better than you." He's a liar! God has chosen you to the one who carries out certain dreams. Your dream is important -- there are people attached to it. Hang onto it.
It Will See You Through
Think about Joseph and all that he went through before becoming a ruler in Egypt (Gen. 37-50). He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, thrown into prison wrongfully, and then forgotten. He had so many opportunities to feel sorry for himself and quit.
What kept him going? How did he manage to rally in every adverse circumstances and rise to the top, even as a slave and in prison?
I believe it was his dream. God gave him a dream as a teenager of his whole family bowing down to him, and no matter what horrible thing happened (or how many months and years went by), Joseph held fast to his dream. It strengthened him and kept him going. And in the end, it came to pass.
If Joseph -- who wasn't even born again, who didn't have the Holy Spirit living inside him -- could hold onto his dream in the midst of the horrible disappointments he faced, you and I can too!
I encourage you to either pick your dream back up, or continue dreaming it with renewed enthusiasm -- and never give up on it! It's in your heart on purpose.

SOMETHING NEW
I often wish that you and I could sit down face to face once in a while and share the things of God together!
But since time and distance stand in our way, I'm starting something new this year that I hope will feel sort of like a heart ot heart chat between us.
Every month, starting with this month, I am recording a new podcast where I just sit down at my kitchen table and share what God has put on my heart for you that month. It won't be from a message I've preached, or from any CD -- it will just be a special message from me to you.
I hope you'll check it out....just click here
