The Word is Working

Not Subject to Circumstances

Recently the Lord spoke to my heart something that I feel led to share with you.  It has to do with believing Him for answers in our lives.

Too many times when we’re believing God for something — whether it’s healing or provision or direction or anything else — we tend to think that it’s coming.  That “someday” we’re going to get enough Word into our hearts or build up enough faith to receive or understand our inheritance well enough for things to actually start moving in the direction we want them to go.

But that is putting things off into the future.  I want to encourage you that you can’t always be looking to some time in the future for your breakthrough —  the Word is working on your behalf right now!

Be Strong and Courageous

Have you ever been afraid?  Afraid to fail, afraid of how things will turn out, afraid to try?  Have you ever been in over your head or wondered if certain situations would ever turn around?

The Devil’s Already Under Your Feet

There are bad things happening all around us. Bombings, drive-by shootings, wars and rumors of wars, drugs, violence, hatred, and economic woes are all staring us in the face every day. Not to mention our own personal struggles.

There are a lot of ways to react to the danger and the fear in our world today. You can get calloused to it and ignore it. You can get angry, worry, or wring your hands in fear and despair.

But none of those reactions will solve anything or give you peace.  Whether we like it or not, we have to deal with the dangers that surround us, rise up and remember that in Christ, we are already the victors. It’s so important to remember that according to the Word of God, the victory is yours and the battle is the Lord’s. The devil is already under your feet!

Refresh Your Soul

Recently I read a story that hit home with me, and with what the Lord has been telling me lately:

One snowy day a man bundled his two small kids into the car and drove his wife to work. Upon returning home, the snow was six inches deep and he couldn’t get the car into the garage, so he left the engine running for heat, and quickly started shoveling the driveway.

In a flash, inside the car his 2 year old son got out of his car seat and locked all the doors! The father sternly told the boy to unlock the doors or he would spank him. His son hollered, “No!” and began to turn knobs on the dashboard. He cranked the heat and the radio full blast, then turned on the wipers and the signal lights!

The father began to panic. He worried that his son might even put the car into gear! He dashed into the house for the extra key, but couldn’t find it. He ran back to the car with thoughts of disaster in his head. He even imagined the police hearing about it and taking his kids from him!

He realized his panic was out of control, so he stopped for a minute, took a deep breath, and prayed a simple prayer. “Father, help me find an answer.” And he heard, “The answer is within you.” He realized he didn’t need a physical key, he needed a mental key — a strategy.

Then it came to him. Calmly he walked up to the car and offered his son a piece of candy to unlock the door. You know what happened – the little guy reached over and unlocked the door.
